H. R. Giger, a master

H. R. GigerHere a make a homage to a great Swiss surrealist Artist: H. R. Giger.
Most people may not even know his name, but his work is unforgetable, more than Nat King Cole.
Probably his most famous work is the design of the Alien, for all the Alien movies. Also in his extended resumé we count also the movie Species, Artbooks as Necronomicon, or Icon , and several plastic works.
Painter, sculptor, designer, interior architect, Giger extends his artistic vision into all domains. Fundamentaly the nature of his work is a Biomechanical aesthetic, a connection between man and machine, a erotic world of senses, disturbing, moving and appealing.Alien on the wall of the museumA museum was open in Gruyeres, Switzerland. The museum is situated between Lake Geneva and the city of Fribourg. It is the permanent home of an impressive collection of his work, with now a bar featuring a cavernous, skeletal structure covered by double arches of vertebrae that crisscross the vaulted ceiling of an ancient castle. The feel and sensation is of is that of being with Pinocchio and Geppetto inside the whale, being in the belly of a fossilized, prehistoric beast, or that you have been transported into the remains of a mutated future civilization.
I can bearly wait to visit it. Will I see you there too?
