A promise delivered
Hello again...
Yes it's true that a long time has passed since I first promised to upload some photos of my journey, but better late than never here they are:
First I would like to clarify my route with the following map:
You have to click on it to open in a new page, the image is rather large so bear with it :p but you can get the idea from the thumbnail.
First me and Ines started from the north, Heidelberg, Germany... we drove and drove past throught Munich, but didn't stop here since we were already late, we stopped only in Salzburg, Austria.

After one day of visit, where we searched the small streets filled with people, easter eggs and chocolate Mozart balls, we visited one of the most beautiful places that I have ever known. Lake Wolfgang, where the film "The sound of music" was filmed in 1965.
On the way we found a very curious thing.... This building was right next to lake Fuschl, with it's own artificial lake, and surrounding.... Give me a guess on what it is....
After taking a closer look, wondering if a hotel, congress center, thermal baths or what ever... I decided to go inside and ask. It was the Red Bull, energy drink headquarters.
With energy redoubled, we follow route until Ljubljana, Slovenia.
This wonderful city of culture and rich historical legacy, offers all the friendliness of a small town but all the confort that we could get in a big city (ask Inês).

Well... the first photo that I post is the inside of the church seen on the panorama photo, the pink one. And Gandalf there was.... well.... he simply was there :p
Next stop! our destination, Croacia and the island of Cres.

Well... the photos don't need explanations... first it's me next to Beli looking at Krk island, the second is me at the beach (the main activity possible here) the third was in Lubenice, where we had a good lamm dinner, and some difficulty in getting there through some strange "two-ways, barely fit one car" streets. Inês pousing under a rainy landscape. Last but not least, a sunset somewhere I don't remember... :D
After one week we packed our tents and moved again, this time to Italy, starting Trieste.
We were only a couple of hours there, to have lunch and get a parking ticket, but enough to enjoy the scenery. Next stop! Venice! :D After 2 to 3 hours trafic on the highway, with drivers wearing their pijamas and people walking around the cars, we arrived... and let me tell you, there are more italians in Cres then there are in Venice.

Ok, the first photo is not Rialto bridge, the second is a nice view :) the third is a mask shop in venice, not the one where we bought ours but nice anyway... fourth the San Marco square from above. The fifth is a Murano glass work of art. The sixt photo is to show that the italians never respect traffic signals, even on a gondola, and the seventh photo shows a Caravel with the Portuguese crusade simbol.
After two nice days we burned rubber towards Innsbrück but stopped in Verona before that.
Verona was a nice place, here we see the Arena di Verona, very famous, just like the house of Juliet, that we did not visit. But at the end of the day, we arrived at Innsbrück.

The alpean City has a nice city gate (photo 1) And a very nice city hall, Goldenes Dachl in the second photo. The overview of the city is as nice as it can get... and I must advise the visitors to visit the Swarovski Crystal gallery located in the center of the city. The last photo shows some of the amazing works they have there.
Resumed: amazing time, wonderful places, 2700km driving, expensive but not as much as I though, and 14 days away :) Not to mention the very special company ;)
Next time I intend to post the Norwegian trip :p yes... this was only half of my vacations.
take care
